Our purpose in presenting a framework by which you can teach the fundamentals of baseball to your coaches and players is twofold. First, we want to create a foundation upon which players can build during their baseball careers, however long or short they might be. Secondly, this provides you, the volunteer coach, a guideline to refer to when trying to provide your players with the best possible instruction.
Knowing how to communicate to the player is an essential component of being a coach. Our clinics are designed to provide coaches of all skill levels the best professional instruction available. The clinics are "hands-on" as we encourage active participation by BOTH the coaches and players to enhance the clinics effectiveness.
"The Tiburon Little League has been involved with the Sportstime Baseball and Softball Company for the past 6 years. Sportstime is an integral part of our coaching and player development program. Steve and his staff bring a professional, positive and enthusiastic teaching approach that we want our coaches to incorporate into their practice and game routines." - Dan Hipple, Tiburon Little League President
Our staff helps you deal with the critical problem faced by all coaches: how to make available practice time as productive as possible. We'll assist you in organizing and running your practices in ways that make the most efficient use of your time and helps ensure that all your players are continuously practicing proper mechanics.
Professional On-Site Tryout Evaluators are now available for your leagues tryout programs. We help take the heat off of your board members during critical player ratings and placement! This program has become a very, very popular way for leagues and its board members to bring in 3rd party professional evaluators to rate and classify your kids. We can set up, run and rate players at your tryout or just provide your league professional evaluators to rate EACH player that participates in your tryout.
We emphasize the importance of being competent at the outfield positions, especially when players begin at the teen level. Outfielders are schooled in fielding ground balls, judging line drives and fly balls and making accurate throws to all bases.
CatchingWe teach our catchers the proper skills for: calling pitches, stances, receiving and framing pitches, throwing quickness and accuracy to all bases, blocking balls in the dirt, tagging runners, catching pop-ups, fielding bunts and setting the team defense.
Stretch-Flex and Agility-QuicknessThe ability to coordinate movement effectively and economically in every direction is a common denominator of great athletes. Our training sessions begin with our stretch-flex program. The players warm-up by jogging and stretching each part of the body. We then begin work to improve each player's agility & quickness by jumping rope and performing multiple direction running drills.
